A-Class Europeans - Finally underway

Glenn Ashby opens with three race wins on Day 2 in Warnemunder

The ‘A’ Class European Championships finally got underway with a bang today after the first day was cancelled due to excessive wind/wave limits.

Australian Glenn Ashby was in a different class with his three back-to-back race wins in conditions that built throuigh the day.

It was thought that maybe 25% of the fleet capsized at some point during the latter part of races 2 and race 3.

While Ashby was busy winning he was chased home by . . . Manuel Calavia and Marciej Zarnovski in the first race, Gert Jan Kos and Mischa Heemskerk in the second and Marciej Zarnovski and Bob Baier in the third.

Best placed British competitor is Adam May (11,20,21) in 16th place. Oscar Lindley-Smith (42,40,34) is 33rd.
