Marseille World Cup - Day 1 Results

 
Mixed bag of results for GBR on Day 1 of the Marseille World Cup at the venue that will host the Paris 2024 Olympic Sailing events.

470 Women - Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre (5, 1) take a five point lead after two races completed. They lead from Bàrbara Cornudella and Sara López ESP (8, 3).

Amy Seabright and Anna Carpenter GBR (11, 2) are placed eighth overall.

Winner of the first race were Fernanda Oliveira and Ana Luiza Barbachan BRA (1, 11) now in fifth place overall.

Laser Men - Britain's Lorenzo Chiavarini tops the leaderboard after two races (2, 1) six points clear of Giovanni Coccoluto ITA (1, 8) with Michael Beckett GBR (6,3) in third place.

Nick Thompson is down in 17th after a 7 and 26 (UFD).

Radial Women - Maud Jayet SUI leads the women's Radial after just one race. Second is Pernelle Michon FRA.

Best GBR is Georgina Povall in 12th place, Alison Young is in 17th.

Nacra17 Mixed - Ruggero Tita and Caterina Marianna Banti (2, 1) of Italy lead after two races, with second Samuel Albrecht and Bruna Martinelli BRA (1, 8).

Best GBR are John Gimson and Anna Burnet (6, 4) in fourth and in fifth Ben Saxton and Nicola Boniface (5, 5).

RS:X Men - Pawel Tarnowski POL (11,1,1) leads from Pierre Le Coq FRA (3,5,2) in second and Thomas Goyard FRA (7,2,5).

Tom Squires (1,10,12) is best GBR in seventh, Kieran Holmes Martin (2,12,13) is eighth and in ninth place is Andy Brown (3,13,11).

RS:X Women - Holland's Lilian De Geus (20,2,1) leads from Hei Man H V Chan HKG (11,1,2) with third Stefania Elfutina RUS (1,11,4).

Best placed GBR is Emma Wilson (9,3,13) in seventh.

No British competitor in the Finn, where Nenad Bugarin CRO (4, 1) leads by two points from Alican Kaynar TUR (5,2).

And in the men's 470 Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodríguez ESP (1,5) lead by one point from Tetsuya Isozaki and Akira Takayanagi JPN (5, 2), again no GBR entery.
